Description

This is most common oxygen treatment as a scavengers used to effectively remove dissolved  OXYGEN from your feedwater. By the presence of dissolved oxygen in system, corrosion and pitting caused on metal surface. Removes dissolved oxygen, By acting as an oxygen scavenger.

DUAL FUNCTION:

  • Boiler Water Oxygen Scavenger
  • Biocide Neutralizer

Product Details

Application

Oxygen Treatment scavenger is a class of chemicals added to react and remove oxygen in water to protect against oxygen induced corrosion. The use of Oxygen Scavenger Boiler Oxy Control  as a chemical deoxygenator is economical within certain limitations imposed by the dissolved oxygen content. Oxygen Scavenger Boiler Oxy Control is relied on as the sole means of oxygen removal. Generally, costs are balanced by removal of as much of the oxygen as feasible by mechanical means, e.g. deaerator and by using Oxygen Scavenger Boiler Oxy Control to react with the residual oxygen.

To prevent corrosion and pitting it is desirable to feed the Oxygen Scavenger Boiler Oxy Control. Oxygen scavengers capture the dissolved oxygen in a harmless chemical reaction that renders the oxygen unavailable for corrosive reactions.

  • Oxygen Scavenger for boiler systems
  • Hydrazine-free
  • Stable at temperatures up to 260°C
  • Biodegradable, non-foaming, and highly soluble in water
  • Compatible with neutralizing/filming amines and boiler conditioners

Dosage & Procedure

Theoretically, 7.88 pounds of RXSOL-42-1524-030 are required to remove one pound of oxygen. The efficiency of the oxygen removal is estimated at 75 per cent to allow for oxidation in contact with air, blowdown losses, etc. Therefore it is estimated that 10 pounds of RXSOL-42-1524-030 are required for each pound of oxygen removed (or 10 ppm RXSOL-42-1524-030 per 1 ppm dissolved oxygen.)

Notes & Precautions

BENEFITS -

RAPID REACTION :

The catalyst RXSOL-81-6119-220 speeds up the removal of dissolved oxygen. Oxygen can be removed completely even from cold water due to catalytic action. Normal reaction time is as low as 15 to 20 seconds as against 10 to 30 minutes for uncatalysed sulphite.

EASY TO HANDLE :

RXSOL-81-6119-220 is a free flowing powder. It is soluble in water even at lower feed water temperature. It is non-toxic and non-corrosive and, therefore, can be handled easily.

pH CONTROL :

RXSOL-81-6119-220 is formulated to get proper pH control for optimum availability of catalyst for rapid oxygen removal.

COST EFFECTIVE :

The catalytic action reduces the excessive requirement of sulphite in feed water for the rapid removal of oxygen. Thus the quantity required is lower, making RXSOL-81-6119-220 treatment cost effective.

APPLICATION AND DOSAGE :

RXSOL-81-6119-220 solution should be dosed continuously. Dissolve the required quantity of RXSOL-81-6119-220 gently in boiler feed water in a separate tank. Dose this solution continuously in the boiler feed water line after the deaerator.

Above 8 ppm of sodium sulphite is required for the removal of 1 ppm of dissolved oxygen from boiler
feed water. About 10% to 20% of excess sulphite should be dosed to provide oxygen consuming reserve.

The table below gives the approximate dosage.

HANDLING, STORAGE AND PRECAUTIONS :

RXSOL-81-6119-220 is mildly alkaline in nature. Normal precautions should be taken while handling solid powders. In case of contact, wash with water. Do not swallow.

RXSOL-81-6119-220 should be stored in a dry condition. Close the container tightly to avoid contact with air.

PACKING :

RXSOL-81-6119-220 is available in 50 kg polythene lined bags.

Areas of Use

Oxygen Scavenger Boiler Oxy Control

RXSOL-42-1524-030 is a easy to handle liquid solution that can be used as both a powerful oxygen scavenger for low and medium pressure steam boilers and also a neutraliser for removing chlorine and other biocides to protect sensitive systems such as RO plants or prior to discharge to the environment. RXSOL-42-1524-030 is intended for applications such as the food industry where formulations including heavy metal catalysts cannot be used.

Application and Dosage

As Boiler Water Oxygen Scavenger

Rapid reaction with oxygen ensures efficient protection of feedlines and boilers from corrosion. RXSOL-42-1524-030 is intended for those applications such as the food industry where heavy metal catalysts cannot be used. RXSOL-42-1524-030 reacts with oxygen to form bi-products which have no adverse effect on boiler integrity. One of these bi-products enhances protection against caustic embrittlement.

RXSOL-42-1524-030 should be dosed at the rate of 18ml/m3 for every ppm of dissolved oxygen. A reserve of approximately 50ppm of sulphite should be maintained in the boiler water.

As Biocide Neutralizer

RXSOL-42-1524-030 is an effective neutraliser of halogens, particularly chlorine, and a wide range of other biocides. It can be used to neutralise excess chlorine following disinfection of water systems, including cooling water systems and the feed to RO systems. RXSOL-42-1524-030 can also be used to prepare waste streams for disposal to treatment services, including public utility services, by conditioning residual biocide including, but not limited to, C/MIT, DBNPA and THPS.

RXSOL-42-1524-030 is dosed at the rate of 7 – 10 ml/m3 per mg/l of free chlorine
